The Jeremy Beadle Lecture Oct 2009

    THE WHITECHAPEL SOCIETY
    PRESENT
    ‘THE JEREMY BEADLE LECTURE’
    IN AID OF
    CHILDREN WITH LEUKAEMIA RESEARCH

    SATURDAY 3rd OCTOBER 2009 – 7.30pm
    The Aldgate Exchange,
    Whitechapel High Street, London E1

The Whitechapel Society is London’s premier society for the study of
Jack the Ripper and Victorian/Edwardian social history. We host 6 meetings a year, each with a guest speaker and all in London’s East End – the London of Jack the Ripper.
The society has members from all walks of life and included the television personality
Jeremy Beadle, who died in 2008. Jeremy was a most respected member and friend of the
Whitechapel Society and over the years he offered us his support and advice on many
society issues. As a mark of our gratitude to Jeremy, this special Lecture will be in
aid of the charity he worked so hard for, Children with Leukaemia Research.

The Jeremy Beadle Lecture will be entitled ‘Jack the Redeemer’ and presented by the best selling crime writer ROBIN ODELL.

“The Whitechapel Murders threw a spotlight on the social conditions of
London’s East End and served as a springboard to much-needed reform.
Running in parallel were pioneering achievements in medicine and
developments in forensic science, which had a bearing on both public
health and crime reduction in the district.”

Other attractions at this event will include the book launch of a new limited edition publication, ’Written and Red - The Jack the Ripper Lectures’
    by Robin Odell.
Each limited edition book will be
numbered & signed by Robin – a real collectors item!

Raffle & auction in aid of Leukaemia Research and lots more surprises!

Free entry to Whitechapel Society members and £5.00 to non-members
