Except for Romford. Possibly. I have no proof that its real either; so they might all be inventions.

      That's it, isin't it?

Oh wait - what about Grooms? They must be real. They appear on wedding cakes. And on wedding certificates too.

Darn it. Thought I had something there.

Ah well, back to the drawing board...
      Good try

If you are referring to the horseshoe pin in George Hutchinsons description I will mention that Horseshoes,Rubys and the colour red are all jewish superstitious items to protect against the evil eye.
                All the best.

"Horseshoe pin", "Groom", and "Double Event" are all Equine-related terms. They are arguably all Horse Racing-related terms, too. (A Horseshoe is the emblem of Good Luck, a Groom tends to racehorses, & 'Double Event' is a racing term.)

Unfortunately that leaves out "Juwes", "Romford", and "Jewish Appearance"...hmm... I can't help wondering if all roads somehow lead back to George Hutchinson?

                  Best regards,

The solution to the puzzle is thus:

George Hutchinson was a one time groom who worked for a rich jewish man tending his horses in Romford. He was fired from this job by said man which is why he was out of work and which was the trigger that set him off on his murderous spree- which included his letter that used the term double event, a horse racing term, to describe the night of the murder of two of his victims. Hoping to direct blame away from himself and coupled with his anger at his former boss and the multiple gentleman who disturbed him that night he penned the grafitto in Goulston street which included the word "Juwes". Later, after the murder of Mary Kelly, he continued with this strategy of blaming jews by inventing a rich looking suspect of "jewish appearance", modeled on former said boss and horse owner, who was also wearing a horseshoe pin.

                  Puzzle solved.

I could get behind the first and last part of that statement, in as much he got the sack and out of spite tried to implicate his former boss.
Dunno about the rest of it.

I never knew that Hutchinson worked for a rich Jewish man in Romford.

He was sacked for nicking a horsehoe pin, probably. Or a red seal ring?

Perhaps some polished farthings or a militiaman's pay envelope?

Or it may just be 'sour grapes'
