I think you're getting greedy, Phil. Not in respect to food, but to guests. Six seems excessive.
Sickert's choice, however, made me think about why I didn't choose Abberline. Seems like an obvious choice, but he didn't occur to me. I suppose it's because, although he was a hard-working copper, I don't think he was any closer to a solution for the mystery than we are now.
Hmm. Interesting thread, this.

Hello all,
On certain tv programmes, one can choose the guests at a dinner party, up to 6 at a time. Should I hold a dinner party, within the confines of this case, then two rules must be established. Truth at all times, and no hiding of information.
Around my table therefore, I would choose the following:-
James Monro, George Bagster Phillips, John Troutbeck, Wynn Baxter, Daniel Halse and "George Hutchinson".
That should sort the wheat from the chaff, methinks.
Please note Sir Robert Anderson would NOT be invited.
best wishes
Phil

Food at last
I would have dinner with Inspector Frederick George Abberline. I recon he knew a lot more than he let on.

"Emily Marsh, because she likes Lucky Charms."
Presumably this is a reference to the seemingly Irish accent the "Blind Man" (as Lawrence calls him) spoke with.

Hi Zodiac,
I have bad luck. We go back, killer pulls a knife, you pull a knife, then Stride will now start to scream. People come running and it is a guy that looks normal, and two strangers that do not. He yells, " I have caught the killers in the act!" Since Stride is still yelling three blocks south in a foot race with Schwartz, we get lynched while the killer goes and still gets Eddowes.
Well, I have gone from being a male prostitute, to a copycat killer that had the bad luck to stumble into the real killer in the same night.
Nice play on Viper, best car I ever owned, till someone stole it. I told you, I have bad Luck.

No, not "Rambo"... More like "Beatrix Kiddo!!!"
Hi Viper,Originally posted by sleekviper View PostWell, would exchange the dinner for the chance to be at the gate with Stride one minute before Schwartz is due to round the corner. Somebody approaches, I will scream, and run around like a chicken with it's head cut off if no one else will. Confront the killer though like Rambo? NO....Just because we think we know who he may have killed in the instance of these crimes, does not mean that he can not kill, just as quickly, someone else that does not fit these crimes. End up as sidewalk sushi with people trying to locate why I am there, and where I am from, and end up being labeled a male prostitute.
I must admit that I hadn't really looked at it that way, My bad!!!
But I take your point!!!
I would still hope that we might be able to get the drop on him, with, perhaps, a liberal application of Pepper Spray/Mace to his facial area, followed by the swift, brutal and ultimately deadly use of the Tanto, (my weapon of choice!), K-Bar, Applegate/Fairbairn Sykes or similar!!!
Best Wishes,
Zodiac.

I'd have to bring my camcorder (fitted with night-vision of course) to Essex Wharf in Bucks Row at about 3:15am on the 31st August 1888. That would settle this riddle once and for all!!

I wouldn't mind having a bite of Sunday roast with George Bagster Phillips at his place on Spital Square. He's always struck me as an interesting chap who obviously knew a lot about the case. (If the rules dictate that I have to pay for the grub, I'd take him to Simpson's in the Strand.)

Hi all,
I have often wondered that if I could go back in time, would I have the guts to lay in wait to see the murderer to leave either Hanbury Street or Millers Court? Just to either follow him to his address or try to glimps his face.
I came to the conclusion that I just would not have the guts to do either, I then decided I would just go to goulston street earlier in the evening just to see if that graffiti was there before the murder of Eddowes.

James Kelly and William Bury- if such was possible seeing as how Kelly was a fugitive from justice at the time- set them both down and question the hell out of them. I think that would have been fascinating.

Just keep your eye on that sixth floot window. Wave to Lee for me.Originally posted by Zodiac View PostHi all,
Here's the really big question, imho. If you could turn back time, and if you were able to discover the true identity of "Jack The Ripper", before he was able to complete his murderous spree, what would you do??? Would you try to stop him??? Should you try to stop him??? Could you try to stop him, even if that could ultimately mean having to kill him???
Oh, sorry got to dash, if I don't get my ass back to Deely Plaza 11/22/63 all kind of sh*t gonna go down!!!
Best wishes,
Zodiac.
I think I'd like to dine with the witness who refused to testify against Kosminsky.

Hello Dixon. I must agree with Phil about the police. Monro had a head on his shoulders.
Witnesses? I'd try John Kelly and see if I could convince him about the impossibility of P and not P obtaining together.
Cheers.
