    Hi All,

I just had an email from the lady in charge of the campaign to save the Cleveland Street Workhouse.

She urgently needs to get another 200 signatures in the next 24 hours.

So if you have not signed yet please do it now.

Thanks all casebookers, you pushed up the numbers. Dr Ruth Richardson is happy because listing the building is to be considered again. IF it had not been in use as part of a hospital it would have automatically been listed. In spite if the 1970s additions, the building is pretty sound and could be stripped back.

Thankfully, the Cleveland Street workhouse has now been saved.

An 18th Century workhouse in central London has been listed, saving it from demolition.
