  • Balfour plot

In Douglus Browne's book ''The Rise and Fall of Scotland Yard'' Brown claims to see documents that Macnaughten had connected the ripper to the leader of an assasination plot of Mr. Balfour. Druitt was Macnaughten's prefered suspect so he must have connected Druitt to such a person.

Druitt was not the leader of such a plot. However he had been connected to a person who was considered a leader. A Doctor Tuke was the chief political rival of Balfour. He would have gained the most from the assasination so he may have been the leader.

Druitts mother was under the care of a Dr. Tuke. It has also been pointed out on the old boards that it was not the same Tuke that set on the board with Balfour. However, it is possible that there was some confusion and Tuke is the connection between Druitt and the balfour assasination plot.
