It's funny you mention James Johnson as I have a few pages about him in the essay I'm writing.

    Yours truly,

    Hello DVV.

    "Had the Ripper murders ceased after Annie Chapman's . . . "

    What an interesting thought!

Actually, poor JI is summarily dismissed by (eg, Sugden) because he was incarcerated whilst C3-C5 were committed.

Then there is the matter of distance--Mitford road Holloway to Whitechapel is about 5 1/2 miles.

But his story is fascinating. He was obviously suffering from severe mental illness. He seemed to be completely dissociated.

Notice that he left in the mornings at 1:00 AM to collect sheep heads and kidneys.

Dissociated? Sheep heads and kidneys? Sounds almost like the story of Ajax who, in a dissociated state, killed a lot of people thinking they were sheep.

Of course, he WAS in jail whilst C3-C5 were killed.

    The best.

If Isenschmid was the Prince Albert suspect, then both him and Piggott were in Whitechapel with blood on their hands... just after the HS murder.
    Both of them were mad.
Both of them are contemporary suspects.
And none of them was the WM...!!?

I have seen the photos, Dave, but he was a lot thinner in 1888 as his wife said he wasn`t eating properly since his depression.

Unfortunately, Isenschmid`s Doctor would not let him attend a police line-up for Mrs Fiddymont.

    Hi Jon,

Not bad... In fact, he would be my second choice.
Have you seen his two pics ?
I wish I could see his big yellow dog as well.

    Amitiés,
    David

edit: Piggott aussi me paraît complètement muscat !

    I vote Piggott.
Because he fled just after the murder and walked to Gravesend.
Because he was found with blood on his boots, an injured hand, and blood was also found on his clothes (that he left at the fish shop).

So, had the murders ceased, Piggott could have easily misled me.

Had the Ripper murders ceased after Annie Chapman's, who would have been the most likely WM, among these contemporary suspects ?
