The first screenwriter I met with commented that he wasn't really a serial killer.

He was being blackmailed and Mary Ann Kelly was the ringleader.

He died 8 June,1891 a month or two short of his 58th birthday.

I think if not the regular suspects, JtR maybe closely linked to the events surrounding the lies that went on between the murders of Emma Smith and Martha Tabram. I think that if some lodging house owner were protecting someone that they didn't suspect him of being Jack the Ripper later on and thought the C5 done by someone else, but it was the same person. I think after Mary Jane Kelly something happened because it was so close to home to Dorset Street that someone may have figured out that it was the same person all along and let them know they suspected them.

I can't help thinking that should a document come to light that beyond doubt explained everything with all the "whos" and "whys".....We would all just say "blimey ! It was all so bloody obvious all along"

    Hi spyglass,

We already have all the evidence required.

Indeed,it requires being put in the right order.

The story really goes back to the early 1860s,re emerges during 1885 and reaches it's crescendo during 1888.

The first two murders so close to London Hospital, committed by someone with surgical skills and specialist equipment would be a good start.

The biggest problem we face is that any definitive resolution would have to rely on our having detailed biographical information on the suspect. It would be very unlikely to obtain such information at this remove in time, particularly if the Ripper was an otherwise "average" person, which is highly probable.

Good point, caped crusader! And every 'new' theory swiftly becomes an 'old' one.

That goes without saying, but even with every theory and candidates put forward by authors, there are always something missing to make it a tight shut case.
I believe that all the facts that are available could probably solve it, and all the answers are already there.

The result would be that a small minority on here, and other ripper related websites who have studied this case over the years, and still readily accept the old accepted theories surrounding the murders without question would do their damnest to disprove it as they do with all new theories, in vain attempts at keeping the old accepted theories alive.
