In the Morning Post of September 12, 1888, I read this interesting line:
Does anyone know, which kind of chemical analysis they used in these days? Luminol? Phenolphtalein?
At Piser's lodgings the police found five knives, such as are used in the leather currying trade, which were at once subjected to chemical analysis, when it was found that the marks upon them were not bloodstains.
