Morning, everybody!

I have not had time to go very deep into Colin´s Cadosche piece, but a quick read is enough to tell me that it´s good research and good reading about a fellow of whom we have obviously known a lot less than there is to know. So congratulations to you on that score, Colin! I hope to be able to comment more about it in the future.

I would also be very much interested to hear what you all have to say about my own contribution in Rip, and I would love to discuss it. The problem is that I won´t be able to do so the upcoming week, since I will not be home and I won´t have access to either computers or even elecrtrical current where I am going.
But when I return on Friday, I will check out what - if anything - has been said, and then I will either join the discussion or start it, relating to what I call the Mizen scam ...

Now, where are those rods and lures ...?

Fisherman's article is very well written and thought through.
He closely examines what most 'Ripperologists' would say is a small and unimportant aspect of the case and has highlighted important new evidence which tends towards further incriminating Lechmere/Cross.
This evidence has always been glossed over as Lechmere/ Cross is not the sort of potential glamour suspect that draws interest - then and now.

I greatly enjoyed proofreading the Cadosch and Lechmere/Cross articles. Two very solid pieces of research! Well done. It was fascinating to discover that Cadosch and Lechmere/Cross, previously thought to be peripheral characters to the case, were actually more complex individuals than we could have anticipated, with some strange aspects to their lives that make their testimony somewhat questionable.

I am particularly intrigued by the fact that Lechmere gave his name as "Charles Cross" to the police and the coroner although on a daily basis it seems he went by the name of Charles Allen Lechmere. It makes one wonder how he got away with it, let alone the shadow of suspicion that falls on him in regard to the Polly Nichols murder now that we know so much more about him.

I think it's an article I'm going to have to read 3 or 4 times before I really 'get it'. It's interesting, certainly, but I need to go through it again when I've got a bit more time.
