  • Strangest Song Titles..

    Hello all,

Thought I'd start a thread for the strangest song title anyone has ever come across. There were quite a few wierd ones during the flower-power days, but I admit my vote goes to the heavy p-funk of Parliament, namely..

    I'm À Fish And You're A Water Sign

Deep meaning there somewhere... well, George Clinton always was from another planet. He called himself Dr. Funkenstein... Parliament/Funkedelic are still touring I understand.

    best wishes

Kinky Friedman is an American treasure. "Waitret, Please Waitret" and "Men's Room L.A." are a couple more of The Kinkster's classics.

Lately have been listening a lot to "The Legend of the U.S.S. Titanic", Jaime Brockett's humorous ode to rope-smoking, which is strange not so much for its title as for the numerous and deliberate historical inaccuracies and anachronisms. Also to the Electric Prunes' pyschedelic/garage classic "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night".

There was a local band here called Miscellaneous "S" that had such classics as:

                      Uzbek Love Dirge
                      Eddie's Drive Thru Funerals

There was always something about the Canterbury groups that positively encouraged far out song titles

Hatfield and the North gave us the following bonkers tracks:
(Big) John Wayne Socks Psychology On The Jaw
Big Jobs No. 2 (by Poo Poo And The Wee Wees)
                        Lobster In Cleavage Probe
Gigantic Land Crabs In Earth Takeover Bid
Going Up To People And Tinkling
                        Fitter Stoke Has A Bath

                        Caravan's wonderful
The Dog, The Dog, He's At It Again (from the album For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night)

Gong seem to be at it too, with these oddities!
                        Squezzing Sponges Over Policemen's Heads
                        Wet Cheese Delirum

National Health are not immune either, with
The Bryden 2 Step (For Amphibians) Part's 1 and 2

Not a song title, but that reminds me of a sixties Flower Power group.. Jesus Christ and the Nail Knockers. (true)
