  • Rail Service in 1888

A thread to discuss the rail service issues and how it relates to Druitt's candidacy. See especially my article in Ripper Notes #28, "Rail Service between Blackheath and London in 1888: Does it Place Druitt near the East End?" Other aspects of rail travel relating to Druitt may also be discussed.

Briefly, my claim in that article is that the nature of rail service between Blackheath and London in 1888 indicates that it is likely Druitt disembarked his train at Cannon Street Station, some 13 minutes' walk from Mitre Square, in his commute to his chambers. This would at least place Druitt near the East End on a regular basis. The article is not about proof. It is about probability.
