  • Leman Street Police Station Officers Photograph.

    Ladies/Gents,

Has anyone got a HD copy of this picture?

Is it possible to make out any collar numbers?

Am currently researching PC William CUFF.

I Believe the above photograph was taken before 1888 and wondered whether PC Cuff is in it?

Joined the Met on the 12th May 1879 and was posted to H Division.

5th August 1879, gave evidence at the Old Bailey, as (Policeman H 26).

1881 census lists him as living at Leman Street, Police Station.

1887 Jubilee named to him still at H Division.

    8th October 1887 PC89H posted PC as PS26G.

Would be interesting to know whether as G Division borders H, whether he was drafted back as a reinforcement?

He remained in G Division until 1890, by which time he was an Sub Insp.

He was still serving in 1897 at this point he was an Insp in M Division.

Photo is either prior to 26 February 1887 or after 31 August 1888.

The photo was taken prior to 10th February 1885 and yes, G Division Finsbury boarded H Division.
