    Essential JtR Books

    I've always considered the following books indispensable and thought I had no need of others;

    JtR: The Facts. Paul Begg
The Complete History of JtR Phillip Sugden
JtR: Letters From Hell Stewart Evans & Keith Skinner
The Ultimate JtR Sourcebook Stewart Evans & Keith Skinner.

Am I wrong? What other books do you consider essential and why?

JTR: The Definitive History by Paul Begg
JTR: Scotland Yard Investigates by Donald Rumbelow and Stewart Evans
The London of JTR: THen and Now by Phillip "George" Hutchinson and Robert Clack
Uncovering JTR's London by Richard Jones
JTR: The Casebook, also by Richard Jones
I won't make any deals. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed,de-briefed, or numbered!

I couldn't get along without the JtR A-Z even if it is dated.

As Craig Ferguson would say "I know", but it seems to be taking only slightly longer to appear than Richard Whittington-Egan's.

              Wittington-Egan for $499.

Hi, I just read both of Stewart Evans' interviews and listened to the podcast. Because he is who he is I wanted to read any books he recommended. He likes Richard Wittington-Egan's book on JTR so I went to the American Amazon for it. Well, well, the only available copy is 500 dollars. Is there any way someone wants to lend me that book? Maybe I have something I can lend you. Thanks!

The books covering the press at the time of the murders rarely get mentioned, so here are my faves that make great reading, and are useful for research too!!

Jack the Ripper- And the Irish Press, Alan Sharp, Ashfield Press, 2005.
Jack the Ripper- And the London Press, Lewis Perry Curtis, Yale University, 2001.
News from Whitechapel, The, Alexander Chisholm, Christopher Michael DiGrazia, Dave Yost, McFarland And Co, 2002.
Public Reactions to Jack the Ripper, Stephen P. Ryder (Ed) Inklings Press, 2006.

                  Regards Mike

Although not directly Ripper-related, "Vacher l'Eventreur et les crimes sadiques" will fascinate anyone interested in the Ripper case.

Kindly re-printed in Robert J. I need to release a 2nd edition McLaughlin's book The First Jack the Ripper Victom Photographs.

Right, Tom, Northern French did conquer Provence and Corsica.
But we are still not French.
I can translate Lacassagne into Provençal, if you will.

"(Jousè) Vacher l'Esventraire e lei crime sadi" would be the title.

                            Seriously, translated into English ?
