Debra, I recognize him- it's Snidely Whiplash!

Isn't it interesting that it's basically this Cumberland 'dream image' of the Ripper that has survived for 120 yrs in the public imagination? I saw a Ripper Costume online the other day, and it was the spitting image of that fellow.

          Good find; thanks! Archaic

Wow! Same eyes. That would make Jack a regular Dream Prince, wouldn't it?

Can you rustle up an image of Snidely? I think he's awful close to the mark too- especially the evil, menacing hat.

              Thanks, Archaic

What I tell ya? It's HIM! Solved...next case, please.

                  Thanks for posting that, Michael.

But doesn't it seem an odd lapse in reasoning for Jack to base his criminal persona upon that of a well-known animated figure? (Just between you & me, he probably wasn't too bright.) Archaic

Reginald Perrin! No wonder he rose and fell.

                      Ripper Dream-Team Line-up

Hey, anybody up for showing us a few of these Cumberland-type suspects side-by-side with the recent hi-tech Freddie Mercury composite?

We can do a virtual Police Line-up, solve the thing, and go home. I lack basic computer skills, so it's up to you guys.
And thank you, Michael! I know in my heart, Snidely is our man. Even his mustache looks wicked. Archaic
