  • Prater's / partition stairs

We know all about the never ending debate regarding the position of the stairs that Prater would use to ascend to her room (front of house above the shed).
but where did the original idea/supposition come from that the stairs ran ACROSS the house (across the width of the house)?

This question is simply asking WHERE did the idea originate. Is it a FACT based on supported evidence or is it an assumption based simply on Prater's phrasing of her testimony.

Many maps (not official or goad's plans) place the stairs across the back of the partition wall. Are the maps simply repeating the assumptions?

I'm asking for factual evidence not interpretations of testimony.
