    "Creative journalist"-- alas, a bit of a contradiction, isn't it?

    I can see the temptation on the part of police departments everywhere to close old murder cases, and I agree that *everyone* who is a victim deserves the respect and dignity of a thorough investigation. But, rumors and dodgy "facts" don't provide a firm basis for such investigations.

      A "creative journalist" -- hmmm. Sounds very much like journalist and popular historian Terence Robertson, inventor of the early supposed Ripper victim "Fairy Fay." As you might or might know, I have written about Robertson in Ripperologist a couple of times, most recently in Rip 154 but earlier in Rip 73. Mr Robertson's ability to manipulate the truth and pretend that what he was telling his readers was factual was remarkable.
