Default Upcoming TV series based on "The Alienist"

Caleb Carr is credited as writer on a couple of episodes, too. I liked his novel.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4604612/

It is supposed to be on TNT, and I've seen TV ads for it, so it must be coming soon.

Thanks for posting this Pat.

I read the book many years ago and really enjoyed it. I also read his next one but can't recall the title; also excellent.

Let us know if you find out when it's on and I can record the series.

Cheers
Herlock

Hi c.d. The Angel of Darkness was his next one which was also great but I never got around to reading any of his others. It will be interesting to see what kind of job they make of the TVs series.

Regards
Herlock

Nope. There's still no date for it. That would have been announced by now if it still had a chance of being released this year.

Remember the first episode script leaked online months ago. It didn't instill much hope, went grimdark and desperate to be edgey instead of being actually dark and grim. That might have been changed though.

A trailer for the series is out

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9867sT-Y1M

This was published in May 2017

"The series, currently shooting in Budapest, is helmed by BAFTA-nominated director Jakob Verbruggen (Black Mirror). Douglas Smith, Matthew Shear, Matt Lintz, Robert Wisdom and Q’orianka Kilcher also star."

Cannot find an airing date yet though.

My guess, from my long experience as a "Doctor Who" fan, is that it might need to air first in the U.K. or Europe, before we in the States get it. But I don't really know...
