I am currently transcribing some articles from the Daily News.
The one today was the inquest report on Alice Mackenzie.
Both Mackenzie and John McCormack are frustrating in that so little concrete info is known about them.
There was a description in the Daily News of McCormac (sic) that I had not seen before:
John McCormac (an elderly man of shabby appearance, whose examination was attended with some difficulty, owing to his inability to follow the questions put to him) deposed...
Whilst not giving an age for McCormack it does suggest he was markedly older than McKenzie.
It is not clear if the difficulties in him giving evidence was due to hearing difficulties or some kind of mental shortcoming.
