Thank goodness someone else loves "Portrait of Jennie".
I have been talking up this wonderful movie for years, with mixed results.
Many eyes glaze over when I give a rough synopsis of the plot.

It is available on Amazon for £2.90.
Go on, give it a try!
You will be talking about it for years.

In Green for Danger there is a bit where a doctor says something like "Actually with nitrous oxide, it's the impurities that cause the laughter" and Sim says that the same thing applies in the music halls.

The man liked his scarves. I remember watching Hue and Cry at Saturday Morning pictures. Some great shots of the blitz ravaged London.

Hi Barn

I saw "Portrait" as a kid. It made an impression.

Another Sim film was Cottage to Let. I think that one had George Cole, a protégé of Sim's.

I think they had similar footage in Passport to Pimlico.
