That is an excellent idea, Paul. The first thing that struck me about Don in his essays and comments on the boards was his analytical approach to a topic, based on a compilation of research without any preconceived notions...a rarity in this field I must say.

Sorry to hear this, my condolences to his family, friends, and all here on Casebook who knew him far better than I did.
I hope a book of his writings is put out.

I found about this last night (Europe time) by notification from a subscribed thread Cris Malone posted in on the other site.
I'm so terribly sorry and sad!
Don was a great editor. A collection of essays in his honor is the right thing to do, I'd say.

Such sad news. Don was a great guy with a great mind. I enjoyed the time I was able to spend working with him.

I didn't know Don but I'd like to extend my condolences to his family and friends. He was obviously a well respected and much liked guy.
I'd like to read some of his work if someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Sorry to hear he has died, but at least he won't be imprisoned by his illness anymore.

Thank you for being that link between us and supe, Archiac.
That this day has been a possibility for so long doesn't make it any less saddening now it's here.
An excellent idea, Paul.

I never met Don, but am very sad to hear of his passing, especially as he was held in such high regard by those who did know him. R.I.P.
