  • Polish Tragedy

My sincere condolences to the Polish people after the tragedy in which their President Lech Kaczynski and many others were killed.

The people of Britain owe a great deal to the Poles who fought alongside us during the war. My father fought with them in the Desert and Italy, the White Eagle was the first flag planted at Monte Cassino.

I warmly echo your words Bob.

My father helped train many Poles and Czechs who escaped their mother country, as part of the Home Guard, in South Wales. "Very courageous and marvellous company" were his words.

Wow, can't imagine many countries taking such a disaster with the same dignity the Polish and Russians are showing. Deepest sympathies to them.
