    I don't think this has been mentioned on the boards before; apologies if I'm duplicating something that has already been covered.

    On Google Earth, there is a time slider function, that allows you to swap between different aerial photography surveys, usually taken over the past ten years or so.

    There is however, a rather interesting photo survey taken in 1945 available for the London area. Just drag the time slider all the way to the left to view this. Although not the best resolution, it is now possible to see aerial views of Mitre Square with most, if not all buildings present, all of the houses on Durward Street, and locations such as St Mary's church, and Gardiners department store, still standing.
