I remember a story about a golden age of Hollywood actress who disapproved of swearing on the set and instituted a "curse jar" where cast and crew had to contribute a quarter every time they cussed.

One day a producer was visiting the set and was arguing with the director and let slip a couple of goddamns. The actress leapt up and began shaking the curse jay, saying "you owe a quarter! you owe a quarter" to which the producer reached into his wallet, extracted a bill and said "here's ten dollars, now **** off"

Btw, I believe that every time I've read of towns in the US attempt to do this, they've lost in court. It's such an obvious violation of the First Amendment that even a politician has to realize it.
