  • Let it be revisited

    Hello all,

This is just a bit of relaxed fun, with no harm intended. I wonder if Mr McCartney could do this on stage one day...
    Stage right, the piano....

    Le Grandy (Let it be)

When you find yourself in times of boredom, Examiner, it writes to thee,
    Printing words of wish-dom,"Le Grandy"..

A bark without a bite, yes...Not a sighting of this man, you see,
Whilst reading words of wish-dom, "Le Grandy"..

    "Le Grandy", "Le Grandy",
    "Le Grandy", "Le Grandy"..
    This suspect's not the answer,
    "Le Grandy"

Some experts come together, and after many words, they don't agree
That this man is the answer, "Le Grandy"

Though it may seem heartless, there's not a chance in hell they will agree
With these great words of wish-dom, "Le Grandy"

    "Le Grandy", "Le Grandy",
    "Le Grandy", "Le Grandy"..
    This suspect's not the answer,
    "Le Grandy".

Though Berner Street is rowdy and there's calling card that Packer sees
He'll change his mind tomorrow... Matthew P

So, wake up to another theory, rub your eyes and you will see,
Those written words of wish-om, "Le Grandy".

    "Le Grandy", "Le Grandy",
    "Le Grandy", "Le Grand..
    This suspect's not the answer,
    "Le Grandy".

    ..............................

As said, just a bit of harmless fun, nothing personal and no harm intended.

    very best wishes to all

    Phil

    "Imagine there's no Le Grandy....
    It's easy if you try..."

    Oh, sorry, wrong song.
Very impressive Phil, you may have yourself a new songwriting career out of this yet.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Yes, a fun thread, Phil - why not?

Le Grand lived to a very ripe old age and in 1970 scored a Christmas number one - you may remember it?

I've been sitting here all day - thinking
Monty Druitt went his way - sinking
      Kidneys cut in half
Lizzie Stride she made me laugh
      Silently falling about

Le Grandad, Le Grandad, you're lovely
That's what we all think of you

Packages tied up with string - stinking
Poor old Lusk he dropped the thing - blinking
Bowels and hops and spinning cops
      Penny Dreadfuls, dollymops
      Comic mutts from Mr Brough

Le Grandad, Le Grandad, you're lovely
That's what we all think of you

BTW, it's not true that a penny farthing was found at Annie Chapman's feet.

Ha! There was a serious risk when you started that the case would be solved before you ended!

Hello Phil and Robert. Well it seems that, like Aaron Kosminski, you have the situation well in hand.

              Cheers. lads.

Sung to the tune of THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM

                      To catch the uncatchable foe
                      To cuff the uncuffable Joe
                      Who does the unspeakable horrors
The one whom we seek hi and lo

But first we need help of a sort
A dick who can give us a start
A man with a sense of direction
Or else all our efforts are naught

                      Charles LeGrand
                      He is that man
                      He'll track the Ripper
                      All over the land

                      Then when he's found
                      The perp run to ground
                      We toast LeGrandy
                      And I'll buy a round
