  • Hi Anna, being a big "Nessie" collector, I have the film "Terror at Loch Ness" and although the acting was terrible, it was a fun film to watch! Shame about it not being set in Loch Ness, but I would rather have that, than a film which is allegedley set in Loch Ness but with palm trees in the background.

This happened in another "Loch Ness" movie, "Beneath Loch Ness" which had kids surfing on the loch and all sorts of crazy surfer talk and dodgy scottish accents!

    "Ya Cannea do that.....dude!"

The film was released in 2001 and was quickly included in cheap and nasty dvd boxsets!

The best, to date, on the subject has to be the family movie "Loch Ness" with Ted Danson. It's cheesy but I love it!

On the subject of beasties under water in lakes, I also have "Alligator 1 and 2" and "Lake Placid 1 and 2"
    Regards Mike

I was sent this and was led to believe it was real, but began to twig on it was another "Ghostwatch"!! Fun film though!

        • Hi Mike,
The film you describe "Terror at Loch Ness" is the same one as I am on about, except the TV listings gave it another name "Horror at Loch Ness".
The title seems a bit odd,as it isn't set there, but I suppose they needed the Loch Ness name in it.
I have tons of info on it,as I am a Loch Ness nut.
The film about the boys on surf boards, may well have been taken from the Pensacola,Florida attack on 24th March 1962,when 5 boys decided to go scuba diving 2 miles off the coast from a sunken ship..4 got dragged under and eaten by an unknown animal species-by his description, only Edward survived, who is now a recluse and drug addict.Do you know that one?
Wish I could see the two close up films, that are stored in bank vaults.
Steve Feltham who lives on the beach at Loch Ness is a really cool sort of guy.

          • When is Crater Lake Monster coming out on Blu-ray?
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

            • Hi Stan, it's quite readily available on DVD but sadly there is no date, just yet for a Blu Ray release. Companies have to look at wether or not the Blu Ray Edtition of the movie is finacially viable.

If they think it won't sell, it won't get released!

              Fingers crossed!
              Regards Mike

              • It's a long story involving a porn theater and such but Crater Lake Monster sort of became our own local version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Whenever "Rocky Horror Picture Show" is shown at the theatre in Hull, there are loads of men walking around in stockings and stilletos!!!

Don't tell me you guys go around dressed as the crater lake monster?

                  • Hi Mike,

I don't know if it quite went that far but it did become a sort of local cult classic.

What happened was the guy who owned a theater in a nearby small town, maybe 30 years ago, decided to convert it to a porn film movie house. He was arrested for that and didn't come to trial for about a year. He was stuck with a print of Crater Lake Monster for whatever reason so that movie was all that played at the theater every evening for about one year straight. He then won his case and went back to showing porn.

The VCR finally put him out of business some years later and he died of AIDS soon after.

That's a long story for me.

                    • But what a great story, it has all the elements of a feel good Hollywood movie! Ron Howard would love that!

I did my time at Rocky Horror in my late teens (still my all time favourite movie, lost count of how many times I've seen in somewhere in the 130's). Did my own makeup, had a cape, corset and fishnets etc. And for all those inclined to mock... a significant number of young ladies found that rather appealing, and I did rather nicely out of it

                            • Hi Bailey,
Brilliant photo's on the link.....you're a very good photographer.

I bought my camera off the net. When it arrived it had travelled half way around the world in an ordinary brown envelope...rattled a bit....and the little box is out of place...so I have to gage everything over to the left of the screen, before I click the button. But hey, that's the exciting world of photography for you.
Recently,it completely fell to bits,so I have cellotaped it up.

New Zealand looks like a really nice place to live.My dad was out there in the 2nd World War..as he was on the Gambia in the New Zealand navy.

                              Best Regards,
                              ANNA.
