Poor lady Annie and her fallen sisters, and not only the other "canonical" four, but the ones like Frances Coles or Rose Millett or even "Old Shakespeare". None deserved these fates.

And not even just those who died, any who were forced to sell ther bodies to survive.

Yes for many booze contributed, but how sad, and which was cause and which effect.

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.

A combination of both acting on each other GUT. Unhappy living situations leading to drink to forget them causing more poverty etc. An unhealthy cycle.

Sometimes a few broke out of it, but most did not.

I suspect there is a generational issue too. Dysfunction leads to dysfunction. But I can help having sympathy for those who found themselves in such a position.

                Amen to that.
I won't always agree but I'll try not to be disagreeable.

Funny to think that if they hadn't fallen afoul of a violent serial killer, no one would know these victim's stories.

I stand corrected. Didn't read the dates. Feeling foolish.

This is not the Memorial Day of Annie Chapman.

But this day I really think of her and I say:

Thank you for everything, Annie Chapman.

                      Regards, Pierre
