Sad news indeed....where most people remember Jake from the movie Raging Bull what so many forget is he was one of the greatest middleweights of all time... he was the first man to defeat Sugar Ray Robinson, and he beat the legendary Marcel Cedran for the title in 1949..his life was the stuff of legends...there is an old saying " your life should be a movie"... well his was.. but it didn't scratch the surface...I had the pleasure of spending a little time with Jake over the years and always found him an engaging man, time and years softened his demeanor, but you could always see the Bronx Bull in his eyes.. right to the end.

RIP Champ and remember.. Ray never knocked you down!!!
