    Just seems to me to be a little odd (and sad), given his fame in the connection of the whole case, that there isn't a well documented photograph of him, Especially when you consider that officers with a lesser connection/involvement do have well known photographs of them?

      Maybe he was silent because he had nothing constructive to contribute unlike some posters around here who it seems the less they have to contribute the more they post.

        It also seems sad that two of the best known movie portrayals of Inspector Abberline are as an opium addict and a drunkard ("From Hell" and the Michael Caine tv movie).

            What about "The Wolfman"? That was a pretty good portrayal. At least he wasn't a druggy or drunkard.
