  • The Death of John Arnold (John Cleary)

Came across this one today in the LSJ Gazette. Finally found more on him after his involvement in the Pinchin Torso case.

    Transcribed from:

    London St James Gazette
    December 22, 1903

At the inquest on the body of a man named John Arnold, aged forty-three, a sister of the deceased stated that for thirty-six years he had earned a living by selling newspapers outside Charing-Cross post office. Her father died many years ago, and the deceased had sold newspapers on the streets since he was a child in pinafores.
