  • Bloodhounds: Interview w/Edwin Brough, Owner of Barnaby & Burgo

Here's an interview with Edwin Brough, the owner of the famous bloodhounds Barnaby and Burgho. It was published in a 1901 collection of interviews from Scarborough Magazine; the date of its first publication isn't given, but it was sometime after the death of 'Burgho', which occurred in 1893.

The interview goes into great detail regarding the attempted use of his bloodhounds during the Whitechapel Murders, their care and training, Brough's hopes for the future of bloodhounds in police work, etc.

Apparently Burgho's actual name was 'Burgundy'. He was so prized and beloved that after he passed away Brough preserved his skeleton.

    Best regards, Archaic
