Anyone had the chance to read this one?

The scene is London, 1889, a year after Jack the Ripper's last victim died, and the city is struggling to come to terms with his crimes.

I just finished it but it didn't at all live up to my anticipation based on the descriptions. Writing somewhat clunky and plots totally cliche - which would be fine in a mystery novel if it was pulled off with some style. The aspect of them experimenting with new forensic techniques (like fingerprinting) is interesting in and of itself but not enough to overcome my boredom with it in general. That said, it is getting a lot of good reviews (I gave it 2/5 on Goodreads but plenty of people have given it 4 or 5) so others may like it more than me.
