  • Where in Hastings?

    Hi all Ripperologists!

Saturday morning I am going to Hastings Old Town to look for the barber shop in George Street and the two houses SK lived in, in Coburg Place and Hill Street. I think there was another barber premises but I have no idea where it was.

I will also drop into the library en route to inspect the 1897 street directories.

Can anyone offer any clues, advice, information that might help me in my search?

    Advice

    You want advice about Hastings?

Christ Helena...my advice is (miles too late, as usual) when offered (in Old Town), fresh cooked fish, always accept...I've tasted freshly caught fish, allegedly newly cooked many times before, but never so beautiful as in Hastings...oh god that lingering taste of freshly cooked fish in slightly warm bread will stay with me forever...it's almost orgasmic!

    Every good wish

    Dave

No, Dave. I asked if anyone had the slightest inkling of where his first barber shop was supposed to be.

There is just a tiny chance that someone, somewhere may have seen a reference or a press cutting that has somehow evaded my notice, that mentions the location.
