  • Lego, Miller's Court

Found this during my internet travels:
    Miller's Court in Lego.

The late summer and fall of 1888 was a rough time for women in the Whitechapel district in London. The ever evasive Jack the Ripper slowly but surely made his way into history and headlines, culminating in what is believed to be the last attack on Mary Kelly, who was discovered the morning of November […]

And this blog article (which I'm sure has already been posted on these forums already at some point.)
Mark Hodgson has recreated Miller's Court to scale using Lego bricks. The results enable us to view this Jack the Ripper murder site as it was in 1888.

I'm glad it's just the structure and the room's layout. The actual murder scene reconstructed in children's' toys would seem just... Wrong.

Wow, that's actually a pretty decent reconstruction. Kids today, eh?

Mmm, what a pity that none of the pictures show the stairs!

The stairs are always a problem. See my 3D attempts with three versions of them for details - and still no real headway or consensus.

I realize now that anything can be reduced to this type of "toy". I recalled seeing a model of the "Hindenburg" blowing up[ in LEGO, but this one - it even has a miniature Mary at the doorway! What next - a LEGO gallows scene of Dr. Cream yelling, "I'm Jack...." as the trap swings open!

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.

By kids if you was thinking teens and under the creator, Mark Hodgson, is 55.
                    These are not clues, Fred.
It is not yarn leading us to the dark heart of this place.
They are half-glimpsed imaginings, tangle of shadows.
And you and I floundering at them in the ever vainer hope that we might corral them into meaning when we will not.
                    We will not.
