  • Baxter's District: South East Middlesex

This was also lost in the crash, but I hope it's worth salvaging. Here is a description of Wynne Baxter's district, as it was in the autumn of 1888 (taken from Order in Council 3 May 1888, published in the London Gazette 8 May). Before this time, Wynne Baxter had been elected as coroner for East Middlesex in 1886,and he served as such until this Order divided his district along with his salary. In 1894, the district was reorganized again with some parishes (including Spitalfields) returning to him.

Thanks for posting these, Dave. The coroners' districts and boundaries often gets confusing. It helps to keep things straight in my mind

    Cheers,

    Robert
