      Not great news? Less traffic, more green and public space, redevelopment of post-war mostrosities. A return to the original street plan.

          Yes, and that is really sad. But as I see it a couple of small Victorian town houses canīt really save Aldgate. The area needs to be completely redeveloped. Would be nice if they would rebuild the old Gardinerīs Corner. Really sad that it was demolished. Post-war planning did much more harm to London than Luftwaffe ever did. London Bridge, Gardinerīs Corner, Aldgate (and muc of the East EndI, Elephnat & Castle, Euston Arch, London Bridge Station, the North Bank, etc were all lost after the war.
