  • JTR-The German Suspect.

This documentary is on sky anytime until January 9th in the UK. Not watched it yet so can't comment if it is any good or not. Sorry. Synopsis suggests Jack went to New York, then Germany.

The premis of the show is that Carl Feigenbaum was the Ripper and is based on Trevor Marriott's theory.

plkI have to say although slightly grusome the bit where they looked at the mutilations was enlightening. I am not a proponant of the Feignbaum theory but it was interesting. There seemed to be a few inaccuracies and to be honest I phased out a few times.

Watched it yesturday. As I expected they left out all the important details that would tell anyone that Feigenbaum wasn't the Ripper were convieniently left out. I then had someone come into work the next day absolutely convinced that Feigenbaum was the Ripper. The documentry forgot to mention that Julianna Hoffman's murder was almost definately a botched robbery and also didn't mention that Feigenbaum's lawyer could have been lying about his claims about Feigenbaum's "confession". To anyone who did not know any better, Marriott offers a very convincing case for Feigenbaum but it is lucky for us who do know better.
        Best regards,
        Adam

I watched it, and frankly the only possitive thing I can say is that I am now sure the City of London Museaum is firmly on the agenda for mynext visit up Town (with the possibility of a JTR walk if my companions allow it) and it made a nice change to not have lengthy scenes filmed at the London Dungeon (which I would visit but gimmicky shockumentaries have put me off). The case was flawed and cut too broadly to fit in the hour.

            HI all,
Im not sure which documentry you folks are talking about here as I seem to be having a problem finding the start of this thread.
But just to let anyone know who does not know allready, I have just seen a documentry advertised to be shown on Chanel Five this coming tuesday, called JTR the definitve history. It looks like they are going to be useing CGI to represent the murder sites correctly.

I saw this and decided to park my brain at the drinks cabinet before hand. Bearing that in mind, it was interesting. One question I would like to askt he Ripperati: what do you think of the programme's suggestion that because not enough time was allowed to snip out Eddowes's innards, that they were taken during autopsy?
