  • Parricide on the run

In Michael Connelly "Crime Beat. Selected journalism, 1984-1992", we read the case of a parricide committed in Beverly Hills in 1987.
Toru Sakai, with a friend named Greg Meier, has killed his father Takashi Sakai.
Two months after the murder, the charming Toru Sakai has unearthed the corpse and cut one finger, and taken his father's gold ring.
    Then he fled.
My 2004 edition says that Sakai is still on the run. The police tried to trace him up to Canada and Japan, but without result.
Anybody knows if he has been finally apprehended?

    Amitiés all
    David

      Thank you John.
Toru's mother was suspected to be the actual instigator, but the charges had to be abandoned, much to the police disappointment, apparently.
What is striking is the impunity of all suspects here.
      Greg Meier: immunity.
      Sanae Sakai: lack of proofs
      Toru Sakai: missing

      Amitiés,
      David
