assults on prostitutes before 1888

I do not believe that the ripper began his "career" as murderer. So there should be some reports about assults on prostitutes earlier than 1888. That could be customers (is that the correct word?) trying to strangle them or threatening them with a knife or something like that. I am not talking about Annie Millwood or Ada Wilson or similar (non-canonical) cases of murder.

I can imagine that violence against prostitutes was not uncommon in Whitechapel that time, but maybe there are some special cases which would fit to the "profile" of the ripper. Maybe some of the perpetrators were arrested and we know their names.

There was the reported attack on Margaret Hayes in December of 1887 that, even though she survived, may have led to the Fairy Fay murder story.
